Chaz (Chadwick Gray) and Lola (Laura Spector), currently reside in Houston, Texas after having lived in Chiang Mai, Thailand for ten years. They are both recipients of the prestigious New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship Award (2001), and they have been included as finalists for the Sovereign Asian Art Award in both 2006 and 2008 where Museum Anatomy photographs were auctioned at Sotheby’s Hong Kong. Their work has been published in The Harvard Review, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!, and in the book, The Real Real Thing: The Model in the Mirror of Art by Wendy Steiner. Museum Anatomy artwork can be seen in exhibitions and collections around the world.
Having lived and worked in half a dozen countries over the past decade (England, United States, Czech Republic, Singapore, Thailand and China) Chadwick and Spector’s art is influenced by a variety of cultures and traditions. Humorous, subversive, eclectic and sometimes surreal, Chaz and Lola make original work that pops.
